Another holiday has arrived, and our children have grown a little bit taller and more mature. Within the short three months of school this year, our children have already blown our minds away with what they have learned. Just last week, our 4th through 7th graders had the great excitement of dissecting a cow's eye in pairs, sitting at their brand new science lab which included brand new tables, stools and cabinets obtained through the generous donations from an extraordinary supporter of the YHIS community. Students discussed the purpose of each layer of the eye and the texture, and at the same time, how it corresponds to the human eye.
Our children receive these extraordinary, unforgettable experiences on a daily basis. Of course, none of this would be possible without the generous support from our community, friends and families.
A little over a month ago, our school and the larger community rallied at our 2nd annual Benefit Gala and raised close to $35,000! Out of that, $27,000 will be used towards building a large outdoor classroom that will include a vegetable garden, inquiry center, mini theater, picnic area, slides, climbing structure, and so on. The remaining funds will make many programs possible that would be otherwise out of reach: a field trip to visit Philadelphia Orchestra, one of the most respected and revered orchestras of all time, a Tynker Classroom for 30 eager coding students, and Dash-&-Dot robot packs for the curious, younger ones. The list goes on.
To ensure that we continue to provide all of the above transformational learning experiences - and more - for our children, we ask for your generous support. Any amount that you give will be fully tax-deductible, thoughtfully utilized, and deeply appreciated.
Please also share our page with your friends, families, and coworkers: the more the awareness, the closer we are to reaching our goal of giving our children the best education possible.
